Back, neck and shoulders receive 30 minutes of the above Swedish massage technique and knots are located and relieved as much as the session allows. The last 15 minutes are given to scalp massage incorporating Indian head massage techniques (see below).

Indian head massage (also known as champissage) originates from a hair treatment incorporating massage, used by Indian women to maintain the condition of their long dark hair and to protect it from the drying effects of the sun.

​

Indian barbers incorporated invigorating head massage as part of their treatment and this wonderful massage was then offered as a standalone treatment in beauty salons.  Interestingly, the word shampoo originates from the Hindi word champi which means head massage!

The upper back, shoulders, neck and scalp and face are worked on during the treatment using a variety of massage movements.  Blood flow is improved, lymphatic drainage is stimulated to remove toxins from your muscles, it improves muscle tone and relieves tension. Improved joint mobility, greatly helps ease headaches and migraine, mental strain and aids concentration. Relieves sinusitis and congestion.  Scalp massage relieves tension from the scalp and increases blood supply to the area thereby improving the condition of the hair and increasing the rate of growth.

Hot stone therapy is a complete body, mind and soul treatment.  Physically the circulation and metabolism is stimulated; mentally, you will reach a state of deep relaxation within minutes thereby feeling spiritually balanced when healing then takes place.  The heat of the hot stones penetrates the skin's surface to the deepest layers of the skin, creating a state of deep mental relaxation by increasing the body's temperature, increasing blood and lymphatic circulation, soothing sensory nerve endings and relaxing tight muscles.

Hot stone therapy (as above) but concentrating totally on the back.  Perfect if you require relief from tight muscles whilst still achieving mental relaxation.
